Medical Massage is an advanced system of treatment that addresses soft tissue dysfunction at a deep level.
Medical Massage treatment begins with a postural assessment. The alignment of all major joint groups is examined from the ground up. This extensive assessment allows your therapist with the insight needed to create an individual treatment plan.
Your treatment plan will include hands-on exploration of soft tissues, including muscles, connective tissue, and tendon/ ligamental attachments. Your therapist will use medical massage therapy techniques and assisted stretching to target areas of restriction and reduced oxygen and blood flow.
Relieves nerve compression and entrapment
Calms the nervous system
Reduces stress and anxiety
Janara’s innovative treatment strategy integrates Medical Massage and Yoga Therapy in three phases.
The first phase assesses postural alignment and addresses any acute pain and discomfort with Medical Massage.
The second phase includes physical poses and stretching to build the strength and mobility needed to support healthier postural alignment and reduce the recurrence of pain.
The final phase uses guided meditation and breathing exercises to build new patterns of behavior, manage stress and facilitate your journey to more vibrant health.
As a lifetime student of Hatha Yoga, Registered Yoga Instructor, student of Ayurvedic Medicine and Yoga Therapy, Janara is passionate about the many benefits of Yoga.
“Yoga Therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and practice of Yoga.”
-International Association of Yoga Therapists
Yoga is a large umbrella of beliefs and practices, some of which are religous, some of which are concerned with improving and maintaining health, and some of which facilitate personal and spiritual growth. Yoga Therapy does not include any religious practices. Yoga Therapy includes only health-supporting, stress reducing practices.
Yoga is often portrayed in the media as a set of acrobatic exercises for the young and flexible. In reality, the practices of Yoga benefit everyone, regardless of age, body shape, fitness level or pre-existing injury.
Increased strength, flexibility and balance
Enhanced immune function
Lowers blood sugar and cholesterol levels
Improved psychological well-being
Releases destructive habits
Builds new patterns of behavior that support health

"The shaman knows that there is a sea of consciousness that is universal, even though we each perceive it from our own shores, an awareness and a world that we all share, that can be experienced by every living being, yet is self, seen by any and the shaman is the master of this world. She lives with one foot in this world, and one foot in the world of spirit."
As a shamanic practitioner and priestess, Janara is now offering shamanic sound healing sessions, beginning in January 2016!
Sound healing is the therapeutic application of sound frequencies to the body/mind of a person with the intention of bringing them into a state of harmony and health.
Shamanic healing sessions may include drumming, chanting, singing, sound healing, energy work, and/or guided meditation. This work is available to all that are drawn to it; it is a non-denominational spiritual therapy.
Janara is a Reiki Master and longtime energyworker. She comes from the traditional Usui Reiki lineage. Reiki can be combined with massage sessions or as a full session of its own.
Reiki is a Japanese form of therapy that uses simple hands on, no touch, and
visualization techniques, with the goal of improving the flow of life energy in a person. Reiki (pronounced ray key) means "universal life energy" in Japanese, and Reiki practitioners are trained to detect and alleviate problems of energy flow on the physical,
emotional, and spiritual level.
